A police party led by concerned SHO reached the spot and the woman identified as Fatima, wife of Late Ghulam Rasool Rather  of Woolina, who had received a bullet injury in the leg, was shifted to hospital for treatment, police said.

On enquiry, it was found that bullets fired from firing range of Air Force had strayed and hit the roofs and the injured woman, reads the police statement, as per news agency GNS.

Later on, people of the area took to the streets and blocked the main road connecting Doodpathri and Chadoora with Budgam and demanded closure of nearby firing range.
