DSEK reviews status of Education/Enrolment drive

SRINAGAR: The Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Mohammad Younis Malik today convened a meeting to review the status of ongoing educational survey cum enrolment drive here.

The meeting was informed that a sufficient number of children are being enrolled in Government schools with a good number of them shifting from the private sector to the Government Education system.

The Director said that an increase of more than 40 thousand students in Government schools during a short period of two weeks is a big achievement but the same needs to be taken to a logical conclusion so that fruitful results are achieved out of the campaign.

Malik said that our teacher counselors have reached out to more than 2.5 lac students during lockdown period and pandemic situations in order to counsel them regarding mental stress, academic issues and Covid related queries.

He reiterated that Directorate of School Education will leave no stone unturned in reaching out to all students even those living at the tail end be it through online classes, tele classes or radio broadcast classes.

Malik advised the stakeholders to take every campaign and every initiative to its logical conclusion and ensure that the students and parents repose faith in our education system. He said that a massive outreach is needed in order to ensure that no student is left out or deprived of free and quality education.

Among others, Chief Education Officers, Joint Directors, Zonal Education Officers and Heads of Schools of Kashmir division besides others were part of the meeting cum interaction session.
