DPEO reviews poll preparedness for phase-III in Bandipora

BANDIPORA: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today convened a meeting to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of phase-III of District Development Council (DDC), Panchayat by-election in the district.

The phase-III of the election is scheduled to be held on 04 December, 2020 in District Development Council (DDC) constituencies of Bonakoot along with Panchayat by-election on vacant seats of Sarpanches and Panches in Bonakoot block.

The meeting discussed various arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of elections viz.transport plan, induction and de- induction of poll parties, communication plan, symbol distribution, deployment of medical teams, RAT kits at poll centres etc.

The DPEO passed necessary instructions to the concerned for smooth, free and fair conduct of elections. He also asked the officers to ensure implementation of MCC, and other guidelines besides, remain well prepared for this most challenging task.

The meeting further discussed in detail the modalities for the dispatch of polling parties, logistics and election material in far flung areas.

Dr Owais also stressed on ensuring proper arrangements for the poll staff including availability of food, electricity, water and heating arrangements.

Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Deputy District Election Officer, nodal officers and other poll staff were present in the meeting.
