BJP promises int’l fruit mandi in Sopore if it wins DDC elections
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Sopore, Dec 02: Senior BJP leader and in-charge J&K Affairs Vibodh Gupta on Wednesday said that militancy and separatism had blocked all means of development in apple town Sopore, asserting if BJP comes to power in ongoing DDC elections, it will set up an international fruit mandi here for the local fruit business.

Gupta who was talking to reporters in north Kashmir’s Sopore on the sidelines of a ‘Tonga rally’ organised by the local unit of BJP, said that violence, militancy and separatism had cast dark shadows on the development of Sopore town. He also said the area has witnessed immense bloodbath during last three decades, as a result of which overall development of the region remained blocked.

“Sopore, which was once known as mini-London was ignored by successive regimes of Jammu and Kashmir who put a big full stop over the developmental schemes in the area,” Gupta said.

He said that the aim of organizing the Tonga rally is to invite attention of the local people and communicate to them pro-people message of BJP.

He said participation of the locals in the rally was a “clear message that people of Sopore have reposed their faith in Prime Minister Narender Modi’s developmental agenda.

“Today’s rally is a clear-cut message of people of Sopore that they are with the Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s developmental agenda. The BJP promises to the people of Sopore that if they cast their votes in favor of BJP candidate, the party will set up an international fruit mandi in Sopore to give fillip to the fruit business in Sopore,” he said.

Gupta said that “massive participation of people into two phases of ongoing DDC polls is a tight slap to militancy and separatism. The entire Kashmir has changed now. There is no room for militancy and separatism. People want to live a peaceful and dignified life,” Gupta asserted.
