Pesticide, insecticide Cos held meeting with Agriculture officers

SRINAGAR: A meeting with representatives of Pesticides Dealers Jammu, Kashmir, Heads of various Insecticides, Pesticide Manufacturing Companies were held today in Agriculture Complex Lalmandi under the chair of Director Agriculture, Kashmir.

The representatives of Pesticides and Insecticides companies were asked to ensure availability of Pesticides and Insecticides to the farmers through proper sale outlets before the season starts while the officers of the department were instructed to mobilize the field functionaries in order to check the sale, if any, of fake and spurious pesticides.

The representatives were asked to generate awareness among the farmers and distribute information broachers to them at their door steps regarding the compatibility of pesticide / insecticide with their crops.

Representatives raised various issues and sought the intervention of the authorities of the Agriculture Department.

The meeting was also attended by Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Law Enforcement APFW, Deputy Director Law Enforcement Jammu, Plant Protection Officer Jammu through virtual mode while as Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, Plant Protection Officer Kashmir in person.
