617 fresh COVID-19 cases, 8 deaths reported in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 617 new COVID-19 positive cases, while eight deaths took place in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 1,00,968 and the death toll to 1,566, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 226 were from Jammu division and 391 from Kashmir Valley, they said.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest with 153 cases, followed by 93 in Jammu.

There are 5,578 active cases while 93,824 patients have recovered so far, the officials added.

The Union Territory reported eight COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours — five from the Kashmir Valley and three from Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup, the officials said that Srinagar has 20998 positive cases (including 153 cases reported today) with 1499 Active Positive, 19112 recovered (including 76 cases recovered today), 387 deaths; Baramulla has 6656 positive cases (including 62 cases reported today) with 700 Active Positive, 5801 recovered (including 112 cases recovered today), 155 deaths; Pulwama reported 4822 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 137 active positive cases, 4601 recovered (including 13 cases recovered today), 84 deaths; Kulgam has 2539 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 86 Active Positive, 2405 recoveries (including 05 cases recovered today), 48 deaths; Shopian has 2268 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 91Active Positive, 2142 recovered and 35 deaths; Anantnag district has 4393 positive cases (including 34 cases reported today) with 218 Active Positive, 4100 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 75 deaths;  Budgam has 6388 positive cases (including 43 cases reported today) with 327 Active Positive and 5966 recoveries(including 23 cases recovered today), 95 deaths; Kupwara has 4756 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 450 Active Positive, 4229 recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today), 77 deaths; Bandipora has 4204 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today) with 173 Active Positive, 3983 recovered (including 13 cases recovered today), 48 deaths and Ganderbal has 3869 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 309 active positive cases, 3525 recoveries (including 13 cases recovered today)and 35 deaths.

The officials further said that Jammu has 18749 positive cases (including 93 cases reported today) with 614 active positive cases, 17860 recoveries (including 162 cases recovered today), 275 deaths; Rajouri has 3291 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 93 active positive cases, 3150 recovered (including 06 cases recovered today), 48 deaths; Ramban has 1715 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 110 active positive, 1587 recoveries (including 03 cases recovered today) and 18 deaths; Kathua has 2567 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 71 Active positive, 2463 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 33 deaths; Udhampur has 2942 positive cases (including 35 cases reported today) with 223 active positive cases, 2686 recovered (including 19 cases recovered today) and 33 deaths; Samba has 2247 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 73 Active Positive, 2149 recoveries (including 09 cases recovered today)and 25 deaths; Doda has 2770 positive cases (including 15 cases reported today) with 114 active positive cases, 2607 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered today), 49 deaths; Poonch has 2328 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 76 active positive, 2230 recoveries (including 02 cases reported today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1350 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 75 active positive, 1267 recoveries  and 08 deaths while Kishtwar has 2116 positive cases (including 22  cases reported today) with 139 active positive cases and 1961 recoveries (including 18 cases recovered today) and 16 deaths.
