SVEEP activities launched in view of DDC, Panchayat By-Elections, Municipal Bodies By-Election 2020

JAMMU: The State Election Commissioner, J&K and Chief Electoral officer, J&K   today at CEO office, Nirvachan Bhawan Rail Head Complex Jammu launched the SVEEP activities in view of the District Development Councils Elections 2020, Panchayat By-Elections, 2020 and Municipal By-Elections 2020.

The multimedia activities would be carried out through print and electronic media as well through outdoor media so as to ensure that voters are made aware about all things keeping in view the ongoing elections.

Disclosing details about the campaign, SEC, J&K said that the main purpose behind initiating Systematic Voter Education and Voter Participation (SVEEP) is to sensitise the voters regarding the importance of their vote and inspire them to cast their vote in a non-partisan and idealistic manner. He also said that the SVEEP activities have also been going on earlier too but now with the assistance of NGOs, Student community, Youth clubs and other partners of Govt., and Semi Govt., departments  and other institutions the activities would be run in full steam at all levels at central as well as at district level.

On the day of launch, SEC, J&K K.K Sharma released six radio jingles in Kashmiri, Dogri, and Hindi which will be aired through All India  Radio Jammu, All India Radio Srinagar, FM Channels and through satellite TV Channels besides in Local cable Networks with the motive to aware the masses at grass root level.
