JAMMU: A delegation led by Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Purnima Sharma called on Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation comprising of Baldev Singh Billawaria, Parmod Kapahi and Jeet Kumar Angral – JMC Councillors submitted a memorandum of demands and discussed important issues of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The issues raised by the delegation included strengthening of JMC with additional staff, installation of additional LED streetlights in Jammu,  provision of additional spaces for solid waste management, land transfer issues and other matters pertaining to the working of JMC.

The major projects of Jammu City including artificial lake, restoration of Mubarak Mandi Complex and Tawi River Front among others were also discussed by the delegation.

The Lt Governor, while interacting with the members of the delegation assured them that all their genuine issues and concerns would be taken up for review and early redressal.

He further stressed on taking all requisite measures to improve the functioning of the Corporation in order to provide the people with better delivery of public services, besides maintaining hygiene in public places and ensuring round the clock provision of basic civic amenities to the people.
