Srinagar: Police in Kulgam recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the person involved in her abduction, police spokesperson said Sunday.
He said on November 04, Police Station Kulgam received a complaint stating that a girl has been kidnapped by one Aejaz Ahmad Rather, resident of Gundbal Mohammadpora.
A case (FIR no. 197/2020) under relevant sections of law was registered during subsequent investigations a special police team while acting on specific leads recovered the kidnapped girl and arrested the kidnapper. He has been shifted to Police Station Kulgam where he remains in custody, spokesperson said.
He said after medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
