Dir Horti Kashmir finalises modalities for launch of MIS

SRINAGAR: Director Horticulture Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers, officers of the line departments, CA Stores Owners Association and fruit growers to finalise the modalities regarding preparations for launch of Market Intervention Scheme (MIS), by Lt. Governor, UT of J&K Manoj Sinha on 28th of October here.

The Director informed that launching of Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) by the Government will provide an effective marketing platform to apple growers and will ensure remunerative prices of apples resulting in avoiding of any kind of distress sales thereof.

During the meeting, the Director informed that the procurement of the Apple fruit will be made in five notified mandies at Jablipora-Anantnag, Parimpora-Srinagar, Shopian, Kulgam, & Sopore.

He said however on the demand from growers and its formal recommendations from Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, the venue of procurement centre Fruit Mandi Sopore has been shifted to Kanispora Baramulla.

In connection with the procurement process, the orchardists in the catchment area of the procurement centers will register online for procurement of apple through Central Procurement Agency, NAFED on the official Horticulture website i.e, http://hortikashmir.gov.in.

It was further informed that the registration link has been established and the orchardists can get access from the home page of the official website from mid night of 26th October 2020 besides, the orchardist can also register by visiting designated notified mandies for registration.

The Director instructed all Chief Horticulture Officers and designated Market Inspectors to provide necessary assistance to fruit growers for their registration.
