B2V3: Advisor Farooq Khan visits Chandhara, Barsoo Panchayats

PULWAMA : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today inaugurated the third phase of ‘Back To Village’ Programme in Chandhara Panchayat of Pampore block.

During a Back to Village function held in Barsoo panchayat, Advisor Farooq Khan said that the government is determined to take due care of interests of Youth for which a number of measures have been initiated.

Advisor inaugurated a public park in Barsoo besides launching sports events in Chandhara.

He said that ‘Back To Village’ Programme is aimed at to improve service delivery and redress the public grievances within the shortest possible time and achieve cent percent saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes. He added that the purpose behind B2V is to strengthen the roots of good governance in J&K and empower the common people in all respects.

Meanwhile, Advisor visited panchayat Halqa Wahab Sahab and monitored the activities being carried out under third phase of Back To Village Programme.

He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer and SSP Awantipora besides other district officers.

In all the three Panchayat Halqas visited by the Advisor, he inspected the stalls installed by different departments and enquired about the grievances redressal mechanism being adopted by them to satiate public aspirations.

He interacted with the people and listened to their issues and grievances.

Later, he distributed sports kits among school children, income and domicile certificates and sanction letters under Ladli Beti Scheme besides giving away baby kits to newly born girl children under BBBP. He also distributed wheel chairs, hearing aids, walking sticks among the beneficiaries.

On the occasion, school children displayed various sports activities like Marshall Arts, Chess competitions, Soft ball and Tug of war.

PRIs and local welfare committee members met the visiting officer and raised their demands and issues.

A local welfare committee delegation in Chandhara raised the issue of discrepancies in land settlement and records. They also demanded up gradation of water supply scheme and PHC Chandhara besides lifting of ban on constructions along the highway.

A delegation of Saffron farmers raised the issue of full functioning of sprinkle irrigation system besides exhibition gallery for saffron growers on national highway.

A delegation of Youth raised the issue of modern play field besides construction of open air gym.

Pertinently, Back to Village Programme was held in all eleven blocks of the district where detailed discussion was held regarding different development projects besides issues being faced by the common masses of different panchayats were listened to by the Visiting Officers.

A number of grievances were solved on the spot and the rest were forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt redressal.
