Advisor Bhatnagar listens to public grievances in Jammu

JAMMU : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar today convened a public interaction programme in Jammu in which more than hundred people including various delegations and individuals apprised him of their problems.

Various delegations including Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association, Irrigation and Flood Control Contractors Association, Association of Industries, JK Road Transport Corporation Workers Union, Association of Paramedical Colleges, J&K Kisan Kalyan Samiti, Unemployed Engineers Association etc  and individuals hailing from various districts including Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Doda, Samba, Kishtwar, Udhampur called on the Advisor and apprised him about their demands and issues related to road connectivity, water supply, power supply, Land issues, relief compensation, law and order, Health and Services, illegal encroachment, lane and drain and many others.

Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association raised  issues related to registration of unregistered Pharmacists/Medical Assistant working in Health& Medical Education Department.

A delegation led by former MLC, Ch. Vikram Randhawa also raised certain issues pertaining to Village Dharap and adjoining areas regarding construction of damaged bridge which was an important link between Jammu and border areas.

Irrigation and Flood Control Contractors Association requested the Advisor to issue instructions to release their long pending payments under various heads like De-silting, SDRF and AIBP.

A delegation of parents requested the Advisor for extension of last date for submission of online forms for the post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeons in Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department.

A delegation of Kashmiri Migrant Candidates apprised about the delay in issuing of joining order after selection under PM’s package. They requested the Advisor to expedite the process for the same.

A delegation of farmers from R.S Pura and people from Village Barnai (Kathua) demanded for the removal of unauthorized encroachment of government land at their respected areas.

Employees engaged in the Housing and Urban Development Department under centrally sponsored scheme Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and JK Road Transport Corporation Workers Union raised the issues related to delay in salaries and requested for his intervention for the release of the same.

A delegation of people hailing from Talab Tillo put forward several issues and demanded for the construction of lane at Vijaynagar, Jawahar Nagar, Shiv Nagar whereas a delegation of people hailing from Kaluchak demanded a dispensary at ward no. 55 Village Langer.

J&K Home Guards also raised their issues and demanded for the hike in their present wages. Many individuals also raised their grievances regarding power and water supply, construction of link roads, release of funds under various schemes etc.

The Advisor gave a patient hearing and assured to examine their demands and redress all the genuine concerns at the earliest. He also took up the issues with the concerned departments and directed the administrative secretaries for immediate redressal of the issues which were projected by different delegations.

The Advisor also took stock of the grievances pertaining to the departments under his control. He assured that the Government would ensure outcome-based disposal of the issues raised by the people. He also assured that the issues pertaining to other departments will be forwarded to the concerned for timely action.
