Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 1590 Covid-19 positive cases on Wednesday taking the tally of such cases in the UT to 58244.

Officials said that 832 were tested positive from Jammu and 758 from Kashmir division, adding, that 18 more virus related deaths were reported in the UT – 11 from Jammu and 07 from Srinagar taking the toll to 932.

“Out of 58244 positive cases, 19503 are active positive, 37809 have recovered and 932 have died – 185 in Jammu and 747 in Kashmir division,” said the officials.

However, a local news agency GNS put the death toll at 937.

They said that out of 1297329 test results available, 1239085 samples have been tested as negative till September 16, 2020.

Giving details of the fresh Covid-19 positive cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported 225 cases; Baramulla, 92;  Pulwama, 70; Kulgam, 13; Anantnag, 37; Budgam, 119, Kupwara, 74; Bandipora, 42 and; Ganderbal reported 86 cases on Wednesday. Shopian district reported no fresh case.

Meanwhile, Jammu reported 221 fresh cases; Rajouri, 147; Ramban, 39; Kathua, 80; Udhampur, 44; Samba, 39; Doda, 114; Poonch, 92; Reasi, 24 and; Kishtwar reported 32 fresh cases.
