Awantipora: Police on tuesday claimed to have arrested two militant associates of outfit Al- Badr in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

In a statement to media, the police said that, acting on a specific information Awantipora Police and Security Forces today morning during wee hours arrested 02 militant associates at Ladhoo Crossing when the duo were travelling on Scooty from Shopian to Khrew.

A police official identified them as Rayees-ul-Hassan resident of Gadikhal Awantipora and Mushtaq Ahmad Mir resident of Dadsara Awantipora.

Incriminating material of proscribed outfit Al-Bader have been recovered from their possession which includes Rs 06 Lakh ( Six Lakh Only) Indian currency meant for militant funding of Al-Bader outfit.

The Scooty bearing registration number JK01AC- 4035 used for the commission of crime has also been seized.

Case F.I.R number 55/2020 under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities Act has been registered in Police Station Khrew . Further investigation is going on, the statement reads.(GNS)
