SRINAGAR : The 3 day National level series of webinars on “National Educational Policy (2020): perspectives from higher Education, School Education and Teacher Education” concluded here today.

The webinar, organized by Government College of Education (IASE), M.A. Road Srinagar, was aimed at creating awareness among the students and faculty members from Higher Education, School Education and Teacher Education Department with regard to NEP-2020.

In this 3-day event, exhaustive deliberations were held on NEP-2020 vis-à-vis Higher Education, School Education and Teacher Education.

Dean School of Education, B.B.Ambedkar University, Lucknow, Professor Arvind Jha and Dean Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Savitribai Phule University, Pune, Prof. Sanjeev Sonawani were the key speakers during the event. They described the National education Policy-2020 as a milestone document in the context of nation-building which is expected to overhaul the entire academic system in the country from pre-primary to tertiary level.

The prospects that the National Education Policy-2020 holds for up-liftment of the society at large bringing flexibility in terms of student exchange, multi-disciplinary approaches, focus on skill based courses were discussed at length.

During the webinar, several queries were raised by the stakeholders from Higher Education, School Education and Teacher Education Departments regarding implementation of the policy which were satisfactorily replied by the speakers.
