Govt’s grievance system witnesses massive response from people: Advisor Khan

SRINAGAR : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today maintained that the Government’s grievance redressal system is witnessing massive response from people as the present dispensation has put in place the best prompt mechanism to dispose of the grievances.

The Advisor was interacting with various public deputations at weekly public hearing here at LG’s Grievance Cell Church Lane where he listened to demands and problems of these people.

As many as 105 public deputations and individuals hailing from different areas of Kashmir region projected a number of issues pertaining to Haj & Auqaf, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, Culture, Agriculture/Horticulture and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, School Education, Technical Education and other departments besides other public importance and developmental issues. They sought Advisor’s intervention in ensuring redressal of the same at the earliest.

In many issues, the Advisor issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for redressing the same forthwith.

A deputation of Hazratbal Welfare Society, Srinagar sought the upliftment and beautification of Hazratbal Shrine and surrounding areas so that the vicinity would become more attractive to visitors. Responding to the demands, the Advisor informed the deputation that the administration has already taken up a massive project for the renovation and beautification of the Shrine for which the work is in full swing.

He said the aesthetics of surroundings of Hazratbal Shrine is being given due importance so that visitors would cherish the place for long.

Deputations from Moominabad Batamaloo and Eidgah Srinagar took up the matter of drainage issues in their respective areas.

Similarly, a deputation of Kashmir Tourism Casual Labourers Union raised the issues of their service matters.

A deputation of Anjuman Auqaf Gopalpora and Seer areas of Anantnag put forth various developmental issues before the Advisor.

Likewise, a deputation from Tangmarg area demanded macadamization of roads in their area.

A deputation of SRO-43 job aspirants raised the issue of their cases pending with several departments for clearances. The Advisor assured the visiting SRO-43 aspirants that their issue would be taken up with the concerned quarters for early redressal.

Another deputation from Kangan area of Ganderbal district sought playground in their area and also raised several other developmental issues with the Advisor.

Similarly, several other deputations and individuals hailing from Qazigund, Handwara, Bomai Sopore, Budgam, Kulgam, Bandipora, Lolab, Devsar, Narbal Budgam,  Bijbehara, Pattan and several other areas of Kashmir raised their issues with the Advisor.

The Advisor gave a patient hearing to all the visiting people, who turned up in large number for the public hearing, while assuring them that all their genuine issued would be taken up with the concerned quarters on priority basis for speedy redressal.
