Army organizes job fair for youth

Srinagar: Under the aegis of Lolab Military Garrison, Army Camp Lassipura conducted a Job Fair event for the youth of Lolab valley at Gujjarpatti.

A defence spokesman, in a statement said that the Army Camp had done intensive analysis and identified the misguided youth, who were then counselled at the Camp in the month of May.

“To support the youth, empower them to get back to the mainstream and help them build a better life, liaison was carried out with various Skill Development Centres, NGOs and civil agencies to get respectable jobs for these youth,” said the spokesman.

He said that the event was chaired by Col Ravi Kumar and was attended by the civil populace of Lolab valley. 9 boys were given job offers by various agencies and will be placed all across the Kashmir valley in various sectors such as Hotel Industry, Petroleum and Tourism Industry. The event was made successful with the efforts of Initiative for Peace and Development NGO.

The Sarpanchs and other dignitaries attending the event highly appreciated the initiative and requested for more such events to be conducted frequently, said the spokesman.
