Srinagar: Police on Thursday arrested two brothers during a cordon and search operation at Barthana area of Qamarwari and recovered some ammunition from their possession.
Following tip-off, a police team launched searches at Barthana area in Qamarwari and recovered a pistol magazine and 12 rounds of AK-47 rifle from the house of one Tariq Ahmad Hajam, a land-broker, police sources said.
They said Tariq and his brother Reyaz Ahmad Hajam were arrested by the police and investigation taken up after registering formal case against the duo at the concerned police station.
“A pistol magazine and 12 rounds of AK-47 rifle were recovered from the house of one Tariq Ahmad Hajam during searches. We have arrested Tariq and his brother Reyaz Ahmad Hajam. A formal case has been registered in this regards and investigation taken up,” a senior police official confirmed to ‘Kashmir Images’.
