PDD employee dies of electric shock in Nishat

Srinagar : A Power Development Department (PDD) employee died of electric shock at Brein area of Nishat in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Ghulam Nabi Dar of Brein Nishat — the PDD employee — was repairing a service line in the area when he fell from the electric poll after receiving an electric shock, witnesses said.

They said that injured employee was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment where doctors declared him as brought dead on arrival.

The incident sparked off protests by his colleagues who demanded action against PDD higher-ups for restoring power supply while the deceased was repairing the service line. Meanwhile police has registered a case in this regard and started investigations.
