BARAMULLA: Following imposition of next phase of lockdown from August 03 in view of sharp rise in COVID-19 positive cases, the district administration Baramulla asks people to strictly adhere to COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines.

The lockdown has been imposed as a precautionary measure to control the spread of COVID-19 infection.

In order to have firsthand appraisal of enforcement of lockdown and implementation of SOPs and guidelines places issued in connection with the  COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo accompanied by various concerned officers today visited several locations at Baramulla, Pattan,  Kreeri and other areas.

On the occasion, DC took review of requisite advisories especially using face masks and maintaining social distancing wherein he directed the concerned agencies to ensure that all the advisories are implemented at ground level in letter and spirit.

He also inspected some vehicles to check whether the passengers are adopting the related advisories and directed for taking strict legal action against the violators.

Meanwhile, DC expressed gratitude to the people for extending their cooperation and appealed to them to use face masks for safeguarding their lives from the infection.

He further said that special magistrates and mobile teams have been deployed who shall monitor the implementation of requisite guidelines.
