Baramulla: A 60-year-old man, who had suffered injuries in a fight over a land dispute at Nihalpora village of Pattan, succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Yatoo son of Abdul Rahim Yatoo.

The locals said that two days ago, a land dispute caused a scuffle between two families at Nihalpora village of Pattan in which a man allegedly hit his elder brother injuring him critically.

The injured was rushed to Trauma Hospital Pattan wherefrom doctors referred him to SKIMS Srinagar hospital where he succumbed to his injures after battling for life for two days, they said.

The body was taken to Pattan hospital for post-mortem and later handed over to the family members in the presence of Tehsildar Pattan and SDPO Pattan.

A police officer said that n FIR bearing number 191/2020 has been registered in police station Pattan and five persons have been arrested in this regard and further investigation has been started.
