Srinagar: 581707 Covid-19 tests have been conducted till July 26 in Jammu and Kashmir out of which 563787 samples have been tested as negative, officials said here today.

They said that out of out of 17920 positive cases, 7680 are active positive, 9928 have recovered and 312 have died; 23 in Jammu division and 289 in Kashmir division.

On Sunday, 615 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported from the Union Territory – 479 from Kashmir and 136 from Jammu division and division – taking the total number of positive cases to 17920, said the officials.

They said that 411 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 41 from Jammu Division and 370 from Kashmir Division taking the number of recovered patients to 9928.

Srinagar district has 4002 positive cases ( including 209 tested positive today), 14 are from Baramulla, 02 from Kulgam, 27 from Shopian, 25 from Anantnag, 17 from Kupwara, 25 from Pulwama, 88 from Budgam, 41 from Bandipora and 31 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 136 from Jammu division include 37 from Jammu, 05 from Kuthua, 33 from Rajouri, 06 from Udhampur, 15 from Ramban, 10 from Samba, 14 from Doda, 14 from Poonch, 0 from Kishtwar and 02 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 4002 positive cases including 88 deaths and 1583 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1772 including 63 deaths and 1164 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1445 including 972 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kulgam, 1390 including 20 deaths and 897 recoveries are from Shopian, 1176 including 21 deaths and 802 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1035 including 674 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Kupwara, 1219 including 610 recoveries and 17 deaths are from Pulwama, 1128 including 611 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Budgam, 632 including 410 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Bandipora and 349 including 197 recoveries and 06 death are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 860 including 486 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Jammu district, 465 including 302 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 557 including 123 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Rajouri, 394 including 299 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 487 including 249 recoveries are from Ramban, 374 including 202 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 252 including 118 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 184 including 137 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 106 including 37 recoveries are from Kishtwar and 103 including 55 recoveries are from Reasi.

Meanwhile, a complete lockdown imposed in Bhaderwah town of Doda district to curb the spread of COVID-19 was extended on Sunday after 14 more cases of the disease surfaced here, officials said.

The restrictions will be in place till further orders to make way for a smooth contact-tracing and sampling exercise of the fresh cases, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Bhaderwah, Adil Rishu said.

The curbs in Bhaderwah were initially imposed on July 21 after 30 positive cases of COVID-19 were detected in Doda. The is the third time that the lockdown has been extended.

“We have extended the complete lockdown till further orders after 14 more persons were found coronavirus positive. Contact-tracing and sampling of them is still going on and will take sometime,” Rishu said, adding that the situation will be reviewed on Monday.

The new cases include government employees posted in different departments in Bhaderwah town, the officials added.

No relaxation will be granted even for medical shops, they added.
