Baramulla: Police on Saturday arrested a fake doctor who has been fraudulently practicing in a private clinic in Manigam village of Wagoora in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Station Police Officer (SHO) Police Station Kreeri said that a person identified as Hilal Ahmed Hajam, son of Muhammad Ramzan Hajam of Kreeri, has been practicing as a doctor in Manigam village of Wagoora Baramulla, even though he is not a doctor.

“He has studied only upto class 12th and had been minting money from the people by pretending to be a doctor since past many years. Today, we arrested him from his clinic at Manigam,” the police officer said.

“He has prepared fake certificates of MBBS from a Medical College in Jammu and MD certificate from SKIMS Soura, which were confiscated from him,”  SHO  Kreeri Informed.

“We are investigating the matter. There are some chemists and medical shop owners in area who were sending patients to him and in return the fake doctor would direct the patients to purchase medicines from these chemist shops,” police officer said.

He said that the fake doctor has been booked under different sections of law including those pertaining to fraud, cheating and forgery (FIR 77/2020) in police Station Kreeri.
