Hirdesh Kumar inspects works on Rs 9.82 cr ‘Inspection & Certification Centre’ Barian, Samba

SAMBA: Commissioner Secretary, Transport Department, Hirdesh Kumar, today visited the Inspection and Certification Centre (ICC), Barian, Samba to take stock of construction works being executed on this State-of-Art Center of Excellence.

District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, informed that this automotive institute being raised with an estimated cost of Rs. 982.20 lakh for vehicle testing is first of its kind in the Union territory, in which automotive inspection of Vehicles would be carried out.

Commissioner Secretary, while inspecting works being executed in the Centre, directed the Executing agency to further speed up the pace of progress on the works and ensure completion of all civil works including fabrication of workstation within one month.

Transport Commissioner, Pardeep Kumar, who was also accompanying the Commissioner Secretary, asked the concerned officers to take up the matter of installation of machinery and equipments at the work station at an earliest so that automotive inspection of vehicles can be started.

Later, Commissioner Secretary along with Transport Commissioner visited DDC office complex and ARTO’s office Samba besides Regional Transport office Jammu.

Hirdesh inspected all sections of transport offices including Learner License section, D.L Trial ground, Transfer section etc. He laid emphasis on strict adherence to SOPs and guidelines regarding COVID-19 while performing official tasks.

Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Dhanater Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, C P Kotwal besides other officials of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
