Talat reviews functioning of newly established Degree Colleges of Jammu division

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez, convened a meeting to review functioning  of newly established Government Degree Colleges of Jammu division.

Among others the meeting was attended by Director Colleges; Director Planning, Higher Education Department; Director Finance, Higher Education Department; Nodal Principal of Jammu Colleges and Principals of various Colleges of Jammu district while Principals of Govt Degree Colleges of other districts of Jammu Division participated through video conferencing.

Talat, while appreciating the efforts of Principals towards successful working of these new colleges, directed them to optimally utilize the advanced technological innovations in the field of teaching and learning to shape the future of students into a well nourished and groomed citizens. He asked them to make sure the college faculty lay special focus on over all development of their students enabling them to face all impending challenges of today’s era of high competition with confidence. He stressed upon the Principals to imbibe distinguished human values among the student community besides guiding them for their future endeavours in life. ‘Nurture their talent in such a way that after completion of their studies they could easily establish their own business ventures in different sectors  like Tourism, Agriculture, Horticulture, Health & Medical Education, farming and other fields.

Talat Parvez discussed various issues with the concerned Principals which inter alia included accommodation, land disputes, requirement of land, washrooms, tap water, renovation, electricity and enrolment in the colleges besides shortage of staff.

He directed the College Principals to submit all their requirements and problems as well to the Director Colleges for redressal.
