Srinagar: A woman from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district who allegedly set herself ablaze yesterday succumbed at a hospital in Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.
The woman, who is survived by three children, had suffered 90 percent burn injuries.
The woman’s family has alleged that she was “provoked” to take this extreme step due to repeated “abuse and harassment” by her in-laws.
Originally from Ahuitmulla village, the woman was at her in-law’s home at Chitthaybandi when she set herself ablaze, an official said.
