Delegation of traders from Sopore meets Additional Commissioner Income Tax Dept

Srinagar: A delegations of traders from north Kashmir’s Sopore town met Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Rakesh Kumar and apprised him about the various difficulties faced by trading community of Sopore due to slump in business activity caused by situation after post 05 August 2019 followed by outbreak of Corona Virus pandemic,.

The traders who met Rakesh Kumar included Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganai Chairman, Haji Mohd Ashraf Zargar, Vice President and Haji Mohd Aslam Mir, Secretary of Sopore Economic Alliance.

They were assured by Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Department that he was fully aware of the difficulties faced by the tax payers and assured them that the department has been very empathetic in dealing with the tax payers.

Kumar further appealed to the delegation members to spread the message of facilitation to the tax payers for availing guidance and help from Income Tax Officer, Baramulla for any difficulty faced by them.

It was also brought to their notice that a large number of tax payers had not filed their appeals against the assessment order for assessment year 2012-13 & 2017-18 and if they wish to do so they could contact Gulzar Ahmad Malik, Income Tax Officer Baramulla Tel No: (01952-238144) for any assistance, Shabir Ahmad Handoo, Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, Srinagar was also present in the meeting.
