The employees told Kashmir Images that they are risking their lives to serve the people as they continue to be at the fore front of fight against Covid-19 but their legitimate demands are not being addressed by the government.

“The concerned authorities have been apprised about the exploitation and inequities being faced by the doctors, paramedics, and managerial staff, however, they have done nothing to address our grievances,” said Muneer Andrabi.

“In January 2018, the govt had given us written assurance regarding the fulfillment of our demands and formed a committee of officials in this regard. More than 2 years have passed but our demands are yet be fulfilled,” he said.

“The demands include formulation of a job/regularization policy, enhancement of wages of all categories of NHM RNTCP &JKSACS staff, provision of social security benefits to all categories,” he added.

The employees appealed the government to fulfill their demands; otherwise they will be forced to go on a strike.
