Stray dogs injure six people in Sheeri; two critically injured referred to SKIMS Srinagar

Baramulla: At least six persons including two women besides several animals were mauled by three stray dogs in Sheeri  village of Narvaw Baramulla on Saturday creating panic in the area.

Locals said that people working in their agriculture fields were injured after the dogs attacked them.

“Mohmmad Sultan Lone, Haleema Begum, Mohmmad Ashraf, Hamida Begum and Rabia Shafi  were injured besides some cattle,” said Sarpanch Ghulam Rasool Bhat.

The injured were rushed to PHC Sheeri were doctors on duty provided them first aid and administered anti-rabies vaccines.

“We received four injured persons with injuries on hands, legs and arms. All the injured were given first aid besides we injected them anti-rabies vaccine. Two injured were rushed to GMC Baramulla,” said Block Medical Officer Sheeri Dr Sheikh Farooq.

Both the injured have been shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for specialized treatment, sources said.
