Shouting slogans ‘save our locality from coronavirus, save lives of poor residents’ scores of residents from Abiguzar locality wearing face masks staged protest while maintaining social distance near Pratap Park here against the administration for allegedly ignoring to send primary contacts of a COVID-19 positive patient to administrative quarantine.

Abiguzar area was declared as containment Red-Zone after a resident was tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago. Authorities also sealed all the entry and exit points of the area to thwart public movement as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of novel virus.

“We have gathered here to impress upon the administration to conduct necessary testing of Abiguzar residents. We also request the district administration to send all the primary contacts of a Corona affected patient to administrative quarantine,” said a protester.

They said the administration must seriously look into the issue and collect swab samples of all those who might have came into the contact of COVID-19 positive patient.
