Shopian: Police arrested 27 persons and seized 26 vehicles including 12 tippers, 13 tractors and a JCB in Shopian, Keegam, Imam Sahib and Zainapora for extracting sand illegally from Rambiarah Nallah.
A police spokesman said that in the jurisdiction of Police Station Shopian, Police have arrested 09 persons and seized 09 vehicles including 04 tippers & 05 tractors while as in the jurisdiction of Police Post Keegam, police have arrested 08 persons and seized 7 vehicles including 04 tippers, 02 tractors and 01 JCB.
Six persons and 6 vehicles including 01 tipper & 05 tractors were seized by police in the jurisdiction of Police Station Zainapora while as in the jurisdiction of Police Station Imam Sahib, 04 persons were arrested and 04 vehicles including 03 tippers and a tractor were seized by Police.
Cases vide FIR numbers 110/2020, 111/2020, 38/2020 & 42/2020 have been registered in respective police stations and investigations initiated.
