Samoon distributes tablets among meritorious students

SRINAGAR: Amid the covid-19, continuing the endeavor of equipping students with electronic gadgets, Principal Secretary, School Education and Transport Department, Dr Asgar Samoon today distributed tablets among the meritorious students of District Srinagar, in presence of Director School Education, Kashmir, Mohammad Younus Malik.

The students were selected from government schools on the basis of merit obtained in previous session of 8th, 10th and 11th classes.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Samoon encouraged students to focus on education and advised them to make the best use of the tablets.  While emphasizing over the need to include students from other districts, Dr Samoon was informed that in every district meritorious students are given tablets.

In addition to e-leaning, he said, ‘eight tele-classes are conducted on daily basis and students have been provided study material through Whatsapp also’.

He asked students that the education department has created a web-portal ‘Awo Padien’ for the students and they should visit the portal and make the best use of it.

Students after receiving the tablets said that the gadget will help them in the study during lockdown and normal situations.
