Srinagar: Prof. Bashir Ahmad Khan has been appointed as Dean, School of Social Sciences, University of Kashmir. He has done his Ph.D in Modern Indian History focusing on Revivalist and Reformist Movements in India in the 19th Century.
Meanwhile as per another University order Professor Shamim Ahmad Shah, of Department of Geography and Regional Development has been appointed as Dean School of Earth and Environmental Sciences University of Kashmir.
Professor Shamim is an alumni of Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi. He is actively engaged in research and teaching. His research interests are in travel and tourism, environment planning, GIS and Remote sensing applications.
