13 persons test positive for Covid-19 in north Kashmir

Baramulla: Three more persons including a minor from Hard Ichloo Tangmarg tested positive for Coronavirus on Sunday, taking the total positive cases in Baramulla district to 91.

Nodal Officer COVID-19 Barmaulla, Dr Zulifkar, said that out of 89 samples taken at GMC Baramulla, three tested positive including a minor and rest 86 tests came out negative.

He added that the three cases are from Hard Ichloo Tangmarg and all contacts of positive cases. The village is emerging as another hotspot in Tangmarg after Solinda with 9 positive cases of Covid-19 so far. Tangmarg has total 31 cases, two recoveries and 2 deaths so far.

A health official said that Baramulla reported 3 new cases on Sunday taking total number of positive cases to 91 with 54 active cases, 34 recoveries, including eight recoveries today.

The first Covid-19 patient of Sheeri Health Block, policeman from Malpora Narvaw Baramulla was discharged from GMC along with four others after they repeatedly tested negative for the virus. Besides, 9 others from Narvaw also tested negative today, said Block Medical Officer Dr Sheikh Farooq Ahmad.

While as no positive case was reported from Bandipora today, the district has 128 positive cases with 72 active cases, one death and 55 recoveries including 19 recoveries reported today.

Kupwara reported 11 fresh cases on Sunday and the district has 66 positive cases with 43 active cases, 23 recoveries including two recoveries reported today.
