Dr Mehta chairs JKBOSE Finance Committee meeting

JAMMU, APRIL 28: Financial Commissioner Finance, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, today chaired the Finance Committee meeting of Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) here in his office chambers.

During the meeting, the enhancement of allowances in favour of evaluators, code officers was confirmed, besides the budget estimate proposals for the current fiscal 2020-21 and revision of the budget estimates and expenditure for the fiscal 2019-20 were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Chairperson JKBOSE, Prof. Veena Pandita (Convenor); Director General (Codes), Shadilal Pandita; Director Academics, JKBOSE, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Peer (Member); Chief Accounts Officer, JKBOSE, Kuldeep Kumar (Member); and other senior officers of Finance department and the board.

Dr. Mehta advised the Board to adopt all the good practices of evaluation and holding examination followed by other Boards including the central board. He emphasised that evolution of finer practices as per the changing circumstances should be made a continuous process and hallmark of the system. He remarked that the job entrusted to Board is of paramount importance and needs utmost care while delivering it.

The Financial Commissioner further said that archaic practices have no room in this technologically advanced world.  He commended the Board for making the process of enumeration and announcement of results speedy and less cumbersome. He asked them to continue the pace of advancement by fully exploiting the IT based tools and technology.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Board gave a detailed presentation on various components of the budget for current fiscal and the future requirements. Besides, the revised estimates for expenditure and revenue realisation of the previous budget were also put forth during the meeting.

The meeting also discussed the issue of enhancement in the rates of remuneration and conveyance charges of Evaluators and Code Officers engaged by the Board for different assignments. The adoption and implementation of SRO-259 dated 18/07/2007 and Government Order No. 473 and 474 dated 28/11/2019 in favour of the employees of the Board also came up for discussion during the meeting.

At the end of the meet, the Board officers registered their appreciation for the unwavering support lend by the government towards the development of the board on modern lines and furthering the welfare and wellbeing of the employees working there.
