Brinjal, Chilly seedlings distributed at Kitchen Garden, Lalmandi

SRINAGAR: Continuing its effort to reach out to General Public and distribute vegetable seedlings of Brinjal, and Chillies under the campaign “AAYEIN SABZI UGAYEIN”. Department of Agriculture Kashmir today distributed seedlings at Kitchen Garden, Lalmandi.

This campaign is aimed to ensure maximum reach out to the growers who could use their spaces and enjoy healthy produce of vegetables in these extra ordinary circumstances.

While speaking on the occasion, the Director Agriculture, Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi said the main aim of distribution of Seedlings is to promote Kitchen Garden activities in both rural and urban areas.

Director Agriculture said that the Department is committed to promote Kitchen Garden Scheme and provide quality vegetable Seedlings to the growers which could create surplus vegetables besides fulfilling domestic requirement can export the remaining quantity to national market.

During the distribution necessary guidelines issued by various organizations regarding Covid-19 (Social Distancing) were followed in letter and spirit.

Among others Joint Director Agriculture (Extension/Inputs), Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, Deputy Director Agriculture, Central, Amir ud Din Andrabi, Seed Production Officer, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, In-charge Kitchen Garden, Altaf Ahmad and other concerned officers of the department were also present.
