ANANTNAG: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan accompanied by District Magistrate (DM) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar on Friday visited screening centre established at Zig near Jawahar Tunnel and took stock of the arrangements put in place for screening of the passengers.

During the visit, the Advisor ordered conducting door to door survey of the red zone, Cheki Wangund village to ensure no one is left out without screening. He said all inbound and outbound routes must be completely sealed.

He said the red zone area should be put under constant medical surveillance in order to keep vigil on the suspects. Besides, he directed ensuring the basic facilities for the people of the red zone area.

Khan called for roping in PRIs and religious leaders for ensuring strict lock down. He urged people to follow the advisories of the health department and stay indoors.

The Advisor said that the administration is geared up to fight the pandemic with complete professionalism.

“Government is committed to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and has pressed its entire administration to prevent the spread of the virus,” the Advisor said.

Urging people to stay indoors, the Advisor said there is no need for people to come out of the homes when the administration is ensuring the distribution of ration at their door steps.

The Advisor directed initiating strict action against those who violate the lock down and put the entire community to risk.
