Qayoom Wani’s elder brother passes away

Srinagar: Gulzar Ahmad Wani, the elder brother of former EJAC President and former PDP leader, Abdul Qayoom Wani has passed away in a Mumbai hospital after prolonged illness.

Gulzar Ahmad Wani has served the education department as Chief Librarian besides and was undergoing Cancer treatment in Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai but lost the battle to the deadly disease, family sources said.

Meanwhile, owing to country wide lockdown and suspension of air and surface transport, the family has decided to perform the last rights at Mumbai itself following which the deceased will be buried in a local graveyard there.

The bereaved family, meanwhile, has appealed all well wishers, relatives, friends, neighbors and all those who intend to convey condolences to avoid visiting the family due to ongoing Corona restrictions and government directives to maintain social distancing and also requested everyone to pray for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir, former MLA Gulmarg, Mohammad Abass Wani and several political, social and religious leaders have expressed grief over the sad demise and prayed for the departed soul.

Kashmir Images team expresses solidarity with the bereaved family and prays for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
