APSCC condemns attack on Gurdwara in Kabul
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Mar 26: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has condemned the militant attack on a Gurdwara in Kabul in which 30 Sikhs were killed. The Committee has demanded proper protection of the minorities including Sikhs living in the different parts of the globe.

A statement issued to KNS reads, expressing outrage over the attack on Gurdwara and subsequent killings, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina in a statement said that human values continue to be trampled over by the elements that are inimical to peace and prosperity in the world. Raina said that only an insane can target a religious place like Gurdwara and then kill innocents.

“The incident is highly deplorable and it needs to be condemned by one and all irrespective of their religious and political ideologies. Those killed in the attack were humans and nobody has been given the license to kill a fellow human being. The attackers and the perpetrators of the attack need to be brought to book so that justice prevails,” said Raina.

The APSCC Chairman said that in the past as well attacks were carried out on Gurdwaras in different parts of globe adding that no action was initiated against the people who either carried out the attack or orchestrated the same. He said that attacks were carried out on Sikhs in different countries with no action being taken by the respective governments.

Raina expressed lament over the lackadaisical attitude of global bodies in this regard and said that these organizations have miserably failed to stop attacks on Sikhs. He demanded that United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) should step up and play a proactive role so that Sikhs and other communities are given proper protection. (KNS)
