IOCL team led by Executive Director calls on Lt Governor

JAMMU, MARCH 18: A team of Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) led by Executive Director and State Head IOCL, Chandigarh Sujoy Choudhary, called on Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The Executive Director discussed various issues related to handing over of land for shifting POL Depots in Jammu and Kashmir, priority for movement of POL tankers on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and access through tunnel, especially during winters. Further, exploration for rail network for smooth reach of POL to the valley, expediting change of land use for new retail outlets by industry were also raised by the IOCL team.

The Lt Governor assured the IOCL to look into the issues projected by them and observed the need to expedite the process of land acquisition .He further assured IOCL team that the concerned departments would be asked to complete the process in time bound manner.

The Lt. Governor asked IOCL to ensure adequate stock of availability of the LPG and other petroleum products in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He also advised the IOCL to ensure that all oil depots meet Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) norms wherever required, taking necessary risk mitigation measures.
