Imported food safe from Corona Virus: FSSAI
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

SRINAGAR, MARCH 18: A committee of experts constituted by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to examine the possibility of presence of “Corona Virus” in imported food items has opined that the predominant route of transmission of Corona Virus appears to be human to human and clarified that cooked meat from livestock including poultry is safe to eat.

However, as a precautionary measure the consumers are advised to avoid consumption of raw or un-cooked meat as well as un-processed food products and follow good hygiene practices. Frozen food items must be consumed only after cooking them properly.
