Wild wolves kill dozens of sheep in Kungdara Pattan

Pattan, March 15: At least two dozen sheep were killed when wild wolves attacked a barn of a farmer at Kungadara Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The affected farmer Mohmmad Maqbool Chopan told Kashmir Images that wild wolves attacked my barn during night killing more than two dozen sheep worth lakhs of rupees.

“Early in the morning when I went to feed my sheep I was shocked to see more than 20 sheep mauled death and several others injured by wild wolves,” he said.

He added that the sheep rearing his sole source of income and he has suffered great loss as sheep worth lakhs of rupees were killed.

He appealed governor administration for compensation. When contacted Wildlife Warden north Kashmir Mohammad Maqbool Baba, he said, “Wolves can’t kill dozens of sheep at time. I will send a team to check the facts and the farmer will be helped whatever possible way.”
