KULGAM, MARCH 14: The Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today convened a meeting to review arrangements in place to tackle with the Covi-10 threat including functioning of surveillance teams, control room, availability of  quarantine facility, masks, sanitizers and conduct of awareness cum trainings programms and other related issues.

The meeting was attended by, SDM, Noorabad, ACR, CMO, Tehsildars, EOs and other concerned officers.

On the occasion  Deputy commissioner appealed   people of the  district to take preventive measures and adhere to the instructions being given by the Health Department and other concerned agencies from time to time.

He urged the people to refrain from unnecessarily travelling and avoid mass gatherings .He added that, so far no positive case of COVOD-19 virus has been reported in the district.

The DC said that special teams have been framed at district, block and zonal levels to monitor the situation, besides quarantine beds are also available in the district to meet any exigency in this regard and people who have recently returned from the affected countries are under close surveillance and are being monitored closely by the medical teams constituted for the purpose.

He appealed people to inform the administration in case they are aware of any person who has travelled abroad after 15th Jan 2020 in their neighborhood, family or social circle on 01931260388, 9797019686, 9469074992, 7006922564, 8082208710 numbers, in the larger public interest.

The DC sought cooperation from members of PRI’s and civil society members in disseminating information regarding prevention of Corona Virus infection.

The officials from health informed the meeting that to sensitize the people various IEC activities are being carried out in all the blocks while 44 quarantine beds are available in the district.

The concerned were directed to intensify inspection of the pharmacies to check the prices of masks and other essentials and to take strict action against the hoarders.

Municipalities and other concerned were directed to carry out intensified sanitation cum fumigation drives at all vital places in the district.
