NIA raids house of fruit merchant in Pattan, arrests his son

Pattan: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted raids in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and detained one person for questioning.

A top police official said the NIA sleuths, accompanied by paramilitary CRPF and police, raided the house of one Ghulam Muhammad Mir, a fruit merchant, on Saturday morning and the search continued for several hours.

Sources said that during the early morning raid, all the documents present in the house along with 15 Cheque Books and 10 Mobile Phones of all the family members were seized for further investigation..

“During the raid, the NIA arrested son of the house owner namely Mohd Ashraf Mir allegedly in connection with ‘terror funding’ case,” an official of the NIA said.

Meanwhile, the NIA carried out a raid at Mughalpora Saloosa area of Pattan.
