Bhagat reviews issues related to JK Employees Insurance Society

JAMMU, MARCH 12: Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment, Saurabh Bhagat today chaired a meeting here to review various issues related to newly created Jammu and Kashmir Employees Insurance Society.

Regional Director, ESIC, Jammu, Labour Commissioner, J&K, Jammu, Director Finance, Labour & Employment Department, Additional Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Administrative Medical officer (EMO), Jammu, Deputy Director (Planning), Labour & Employment Department, Deputy Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Under Secretary, Labour & Employment Department were present in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary took a threadbare review of the Insurance Society such as holding of Governing Body, Executive Body, approval of by-laws and Rules and Regulations of Society besides Financial implications, delegation of power to IMOs, AMOs and Director ESI.

He stressed upon the concerned to reach out to the masses and increase the number of memberships by at least one lakh from current 2.95 lakh. He also took stock of the empanelled hospitals and enquired about the treatment they provide to the insured persons.

The meeting was informed that in the ensuing financial year 2020-21, 11 new dispensaries shall be opened which will fulfil the requirement of one dispensary in each district of J&K.

It was given out that construction of 100-bedded tertiary ESI Hospital at Ompura Budgam and up-gradation of ESI Hospital Bari Brahamna from 75 to 100-bedded shall benefit insured persons.
