Forest dept organizes plantation drive at IMHS Gantamulla

Baramulla, March 10: Forest department block Boniyar Baramulla on Tuesday organized a plantation drive at Iqbal Islamia Model High School Gantamulla.

People from cross section of society, Block Development Chairman Narvaw Mir Iqbal, Range Officer Boniyar Aijaz Ahmad Nagoo, Forester Nazir Ahmad, Sarpanch Faya Ahmad Pandit, Principal IIMHS Naseer Ahmad Lone, Commandant BSF Santosh Kumar and officials of forest department, students and staff participated in the plantation drive.

“The students, staff of all intuitions were involved in the plantation drive and we are highly grateful to forest department for supplying saplings of trees and also also to help in the plantation,” said Principal Naseer Ahmad Lone.

During the plantation drive around 40 saplings of deodar were planted to improve the asthetics of school premises.

BDC Chairman Mir Iqbal hailed the enthusiasm and support of forest and education department for carrying out the large scale plantation drive that will boost our ecology.

Ecological expert forester Nazir Ahmad Dar highlighted the importance of plantation for saving the environment from hazardous pollution caused by indiscriminate felling of trees and the measures of safeguarding the environment.
