Baramulla, Mar 09: A truck driver was killed, conductor and two others were injured when a High Tension (HT) electric transmission line fell on a truck in the apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir Baramulla district on Monday.
Witnesses told ‘Kashmir Images’ that around 10:45 AM, a HT transmission line fell on a truck in Gund Barth area of Sopore resulting in on-spot death of driver and critical injuries to the conductor and two other person on-board this truck.
The deceased driver was identified as Waheed Ahmad Lone (35), son of Khazir Mohammad Lone of Zaloora. The injured conductor was identified as Gulzar Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Aziz Lone, also of Zaloora.
The injured was immediately taken to a hospital where their condition is stated to be stable.
Superintending Engineer (SE) PDD said that he will look into the matter and see how this mishap happened.
