Srinagar Mar 09: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir today called on Congress President Sonia Gandhi at his residence in Delhi and briefed her about the prevailing situation in J&K.

G A Mir also met Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Gulam Nabi Azad and General Secretary AICC Ambika Soni and discussed various significant issues pertaining to J&K

A statement issued to KNS reads, both Sonia Gandhi and G.A. Mir held threadbare discussion on the overall socio-political scenario obtaining in Jammu and Kashmir, besides discussing the various issues of public importance.

He also briefed Sonia Gandhi about the new political developments in J&K.

Congress President expressed anguish over the losses suffered by the people especially Businessmen, Traders, Tourism sector in the aftermath of Abrogation of Art 370.

Gandhi told Mir that she was highly concerned about the wellbeing of the people of J&K and will continue to work for their development and safety.

G A Mir also briefed Gandhi about the organizational affairs and activities in J&K and also informed her about the restrictions imposed on political movements of Congress Leaders both in Jammu and Kashmir since August 5 2019.

Mir also discussed various issues pertaining to Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh with Gulam Nabi Azad and Ambika Soni in separate meetings. The leaders expressed their concern over the situation prevailing in J&K, the statement said (KNS).
