Addressing the officers, DDC said that there is no evidence of any case related to the virus in the district as of now. However, as a preventive measure, no public gathering including morning assemblies in schools would be held in the district, he said.

He said that multi-pronged plan has been formulated to tackle the situation which includes constitution of Surveillance Teams, Rapid Response Teams (RRT), establishment of Control Room and conduct of mass awareness campaign.

The DDC directed the concerned heads of Surveillance Teams to submit travel information of all the persons of the district who have been abroad or have returned to their homes.

Surveillance Teams have been constituted at Nayabat level in which officers of Revenue, Rural Development and other departments are jointly working.

He appealed the people to cooperate with the Surveillance Teams in sharing of information regarding travel history for the larger public interest. He urged people not to get panic and pay heed to any kind of rumours.

He stressed officers including doctors of Health Department, Ayush, Animal and Sheep Husbandry to have round the clock active phone numbers at their disposal to meet any exigencies.

The DDC further asked concerned officers to conduct random market checking to stop escalation in rates of masks, sensitizers and other goods.

On the occasion, ADC informed that all latest health advisories and precautionary measures will be shared among the public through different modes of communication.

The meeting was further informed that a 24×7 control room has been established at DC Office Kupwara. The general public has been asked to contact telephone number 01955253522 for any help regarding Coronavirus.
