Govt directs for availability of masks at fair prices

JAMMU, MARCH 07: The government today directed the Pharma dealers and traders fraternity to ensure availability of masks & sanitizers to the public at fair prices.

The directions in this regard were given by the State Drugs Controller, Drugs & Food Control Organisation, J&K Lotika Khajuria, ADC (Jammu) Mohd Iqbal Pall, during a meeting wherein representatives of Jammu Kashmir Chemists Association (JKCA), Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Associations (JPDA) etc were present.

Surprise inspections of Pharma Dealers/Retail Outlets of Jammu were also carried out by the respective Assistant Drug Controllers to ensure the smooth availability sale of Masks & Sanitizers to the general public at genuine prices.

During the meeting, the members of trade fraternity informed that the demand for masks & sanitizers have increased rapidly.  The State Drug Controller made it clear that if any trader is found indulging in unfair/unethical/mal-trade practices, the Department shall initiate strict punitive action against such offenders.

The general public is also informed to share their inputs of overcharging on such items to the Department on 0191-2538527.
